Brandon Lau is an award winning composer for film, TV, and other media from both Connecticut, USA, and Shanghai, China. Music was an integral part of his early life as he picked up piano, violin, saxophone, guitar, and drums. Despite playing these instruments, Brandon's main interest in music was closer to the electronic artists playing on the radio such as Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Zedd, and many more. In 2015, Brandon attended Berklee College of Music to study film composition. While he was attracted to the story-telling aspect of film scoring, Brandon always wanted to bridge the worlds of his electronic inspirations to the film world. As a result, Brandon decided to dive deep into the world of synthesis and sound design, creating his own patches and sounds while learning about the intricacies of the orchestra through school.

Since then, Brandon has continued to bring his love for synthesized sounds and textures to the narrative world. This combination has caused his work to thrive in trailers including Scream (2022), Destiny 2 (2019), Arcane (2021), and many more. His designed sounds have also found their way into promoting the largest video games such as League of Legends (Riot Games), Call of Duty (Activision), Destiny 2 (Bungie), and more.

On the film scoring side, Brandon Lau has written for several short films and feature films. His latest score for Vitoria Vasconcellos's "Bleed Don't Die" features a cosmic synth ensemble to complement the more simple sounds of wind chimes and berimbau. It was featured in the Cannes Short Film Corner in 2023.

In collaboration with other composers, Brandon enjoys meshing his electronic textures with the richness of a large orchestra. He's collaborated with trailer giant Mark Petrie on several albums (including Twisted Fate and Shadow of the Future) and placed music for hundreds of popular TV programs like the Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021), and the Bachelor. With George Shaw, Brandon created fun electronic pop sequences for the Dreamworks show "Abominable and the Invisible City".

In his free time, Brandon is an ambivert who struggles choosing between binging another dystopian sci-fi series or going out for a fun karaoke night with friends.
